Baby cards

Whenever I have been away from scrapping for a while, making a card seems to get me back into the swing of things.  With a couple of friends having babies it was the perfect chance to get creative.  These bits and pieces haven't been out in a while so it was fun seeing what I could come up with.  I started with the girls card and once I had the design, adapted the colours and images for a boy.

Colours:  brocade blue, pumpkin pie, white
Stamps: baby (kaiser), storytime alpha (CDS), parateddy (elzybells)
Finishing touches:  striped ribbon (SU), wood veneers, letter sticker, stitching, paper (unknown)

Baby girl

I haven't needed as many baby cards lately.  Looks like I may have a few more to make in the next few months though as friends are due.  This card was a case from a card that I have pinned by Becky Jensen at Stamp That.  I changed the boy to girl and used some of the papers in my stash for the blanket.  Super easy when you need a card right away.

Baby card

There have been lots of baby's born over the last few weeks so I have been getting back into baby cards. I saw this cute card on Maile Belles site (did I mention I love her clean and simple style - I always want to add more but she definitely nails the less is more idea).  I have several stamp sets with little baby icons so thought they would be perfect to put together like this.  I made one in blue and one in pink but forgot to take the photo before I gave it away.  Will have to make another.  Love the end result.

A series of cards

We headed away for some of the holidays. I had only a bit of time to put together something to take away with me. I am so glad that I did. It is so much easier now that I have a bag set to go.  It was a chance to catch up with some cards to fill the gaps that I had.

This one was an extra I did from the bits and pieces I had from the baby cards for sale

Colours: wild wasabi, chocolate chip, baja breeze
Stamps:  parateddy (EB), circle of friendship (SU)
Finishing touches:  cappuchino bakers twine (the twinery), chipboard (unknown), buttons, ribbon

I had a few girls to make cards for so I used one of my Stampin Up pics from my ideas folder as inspiration.

Finishing touches: eyelet sticker, pink glitter, red tag sale alpha die (cuttlebug), stitching, apron lace border punch (fiskars)

The new washi tapes that I had purchased were screaming to be put togther in a card.  I found a stamp that I have been wanting for some time (dandelion) so I put them together for this card.

Washi tape is a new thing for me so I am trying it out in all sorts of ways.  A similar card was on display at Craft Haven so I thought I would give it a go.  Works well for a male card.

Baby Cards

It has been a while since I made cards for my husbands work social club for giving. They needed two baby cards. One is a boy and the other is due but they are leaving it a surprise.  I enjoy coming up with colour combos that are a little different.

I got out my baby bits and pieces.  This card started with some chipboard baby shapes.  I matched up some papers and I was away.  Some of my favourite elements stitching, buttons and it was done

The next one also started with the abc chipboard/sticker. Always a little tricker going gender neutral.  I found some papers that went with and built up the details from there.

Challenge Me Happy #43

I went looking for a challenge and found one at Challenge Me Happy.

My pages usually start with a photo.  Being out numbered by boys I dug into my photos.  Nice to do something girly for a change.  Once I had gathered up the bits and pieces I thought I would use, I started laying down the layers that I wanted.  The fun was in putting together the embellishments.  I especially enjoyed getting back to stitching on my layouts.

I often think that 'if I only knew in the past what I know now'.  An important reminder.  Whoever you are be you.

Layouts at last

A while back I started my son's baby album.  I made a start with a rip and a roar with the help of a scrapping weekend away and then didn't do much more.  It has been a little tricky as I can't take out the album pages and it is a little smaller than the standard 12 x 12.  I have the photos sorted, so I once again pulled out the album to do some more.
This is one of my favourites  The colours and handmade embellishments came together so well.

I have had these season stickers for longer than I can remember.  I had taken these photos just so I  could use them.
Love how this one turned out.  The inspiration came from an Ali Edwards layout I have in my ideas folder.  It was great to use my new Mat Stack 5  Die and Stamps from Papertrey Ink for labels.

Time to put together some page packs for the photos that I have left to go in the album.  I have lots of new papers and stamps to play with.

On a roll with baby album

Having started Riley's album I have been working away at more pages despite things slowing down with the school holidays. I have enjoyed putting together little details with the different products that I have. It has been some time since I purchased them so it is like shopping all over again pulling out the different things.

Super Scrappy Weekend

A chance to get away for the weekend for some scrapping time with my family. Absolute bliss. Even though it is a bit of a drive it was so worth it. Great company, food and most important time for scrapping. Needless to say we had some late nights so we could squeeze as much time out of it as possible. I had organised my pages before I went which made it easier to get started on each page. A great start to my three year old's album. He has his own album at last.
