August Stamp Club

Time for another round of Stamp Club. With Father's Day next month the challenge was to come up with something masculine. Seems to get alot of people stumped as to what to use. I have already put together a couple of cards. You can see them here and here, but I had some more ideas that I wanted to try.

I usually start out with the colour combo. Keeping the lines clean you can still add details with stitching, buttons and embellishments like staples and paper clips. The 'dad' card started with the all in the family dad image. I saw this card on Maureen's blog, Buttons and Bling and changed the eyelets for buttons. The award card was inspired by this card at Stamping a Latte. I had loads of fun putting them together.

Colours: going grey, basic grey, tempting turquoise, old olive
Stamps: circle of friendship, background sampler, little pieces, rough type alpha
Finishing touches: scallop circle punch, circle punches, star punch, faux stitching, paper clip, patterned paper (october afternoon)

Colours: night of navy, sahara sand, old olive, cajun craze
Stamps: all in the family, trendy trees, background sampler
Finishing touches: alpha stencil, spiral punch, mat pack, buttons, linen thread, staples, faux stitiching, patterned paper (3 bugs in a rug)

First for the Year - Sweet Sunday Challenge 51

A bit of a slow start to the year. Especially as I have made a goal to get ahead on my birthday cards this year. Although on holiday, the usual routine goes out the window and not everything happens as you plan. Just have to kick back and enjoy it and make the most of the time I do get to stamp. The first three months of the year are very busy with all our birthdays and many others in the family. So it was good to get a start on one of many to come. I really enjoy taking part in the challenges that are offered on line but am never usually able to get it onto the list. So I have sneaked in the last day for one of my favourites Sweet Sunday Challenge. This is my take on challenge #51.

It is for a teenage nephew. Male cards are tricky as it is but this one came together well as I kept the colour very simple and mixed and matched the stamps to fit the theme. I do like the variety of things you can do with the All in the Family set. To see what else I have come up with check it out here.

Although it should be summer the weather hasn't been all that wonderful. Must have made a difference making the card though as we have finally got a beautiful day to enjoy.

Colour: chocolate chip, kraft
Stamps: all in the family, just beachy and lazy days wheel (SU), alphabet ( unknown)
Finishing Touches: chocolate ribbon, postal scissors

Such a fun stamp set

I always seem to get an idea in my head for a card that never quite turns out as I pictured in my head. But this one was actually better. I wanted to do something special for this family, something a bit different from the usual baby card ideas. I love the All in the Family set from Stampn Up because you can custom the people to fit the people you are making the card for. I had lots of fun putting this one together. I wasn't sure quite what colours I was going to do but after digging around I came across my Heidi Grace orchard kit and the sentiment that I have used inside fit really well so I went from there. The boys in the family had fun picking out who was who when I gave them the card.

Colours: chocolate chip, close to cocoa, creamy caramel, old olive, always artichoke, blush blossom, certainly celery
Papers: orchard scrapbooking kit (Heidi Grace)
Stamps: all in the family, once upon a time and little pieces (SU)
Finishing touches:
orchard scrapbooking kit (Heidi Grace), certainly celery ribbon, vintage brads, paper piercing tool and white signo pen (SU), copper embossing powder

Mojo Monday

Here is my take on this weeks Mojo Monday challenge. I have used the sketch to create a card for our stamp club challenge for this month. We had to make a card using Psalm 23:2 as inspiration 'he makes me lie down in green pastures he leads me by still waters. I put together different sets and had a play with my All in the family set and stamp a ma jig (SU) to get the person lying down.

Colours: Baja breeze, Chocolate chip, Pale plum, Old olive, Garden Green
Stamps: All in the Family, Boho Backgrounds, Background Sampler (SU) and Blown Over (CDS)
Finishing Touches: Striped grosgrain ribbon, 1/4 inch gross grain ribbon, vintage brads, black embossing powder
