Baby girl

I haven't needed as many baby cards lately.  Looks like I may have a few more to make in the next few months though as friends are due.  This card was a case from a card that I have pinned by Becky Jensen at Stamp That.  I changed the boy to girl and used some of the papers in my stash for the blanket.  Super easy when you need a card right away.

Something girly

Another chance to use my new sandable paper from Echo Park and my embossing folders.  I haven't done any colouring for a while so it was fun to get the markers out and colour.  I love the chance to make girly cards.

Colours:  certainly celery, blushing bride, rose red, white
Stamps: dress up lily (PCS), wonderful words (PTI),hey cupcake (EB)
Finishing touches:  paper (heidi grace, MME and EP), seeing spots embossing folder (cuttlebug), button, stitching, wonderful words die (PTI), washi tape

Using Sentiment Cards

I had quite forgotten I had done this card until I went through my photos.  My starting point for this card was the sentiment embellishment.  I pulled out the colours and was away.  I picked up some of the echo park sandable paper while on my travels to Canada and was keen to give it a go.  I have tried the co-ordination range and found it too thick.  The paper works well as it is still sturdy enough to sand.  It is a great chance to use the different embossing folders that I have.  I traced a circle shape onto the cardstock and then rough stitched around a couple of times.  I liked the end result. Something different to try when stitching instead of the usual around the edges that I do.

Colours:  sahara sand, baja breeze, calypso coral
Stamps: n/a
Finishing touches:  sandable paper (echo park), stitching, buttons, die cut sentiment (K&C), bird embellishment (recollections), pins (heidi grace), ruffled ribbon, victoria crochet trim and vanilla flower trim (SU), happy days measuring tape embossing folder (x-cut)

I love Maile Belles work.  She has a beautiful simple style and she often works on different angles.  This is my take on her style using some new washi tape that I bought.  So quick and simple when all the elements are ready to go.

Colours:  white, baja breeze, night of navy
Stamps:  n/a
Finishing touches:  die cut sentiment (K&C), washi tape, buttons

Back in the game

While organising I put together some kits for making cards.  I had some bits and pieces that I wanted to use so I added elements that I could use with it.  This one is using a Heidi Grace kit - Orchard.  I teamed it up with the Reason to Smile stamp set from Stampin Up.  A chance to get creative again.

Colours:  old olive, blush blossom, certainly celery, tangerine tango, very vanilla
Stamps:  reason to smile and sanded (SU), text style (PTI)
Finishing touches:  orchard kit (heidi grace), ribbon (SU), distressing tool

A new stamp set

It's my new thing - brackets! And I found a great stamp set (punctuation) by Kelly Panacci for Sandylion designs at a store while on holiday so of course had to get it. They work great on scrapbook pages as well. I got inspired by this design at Brenda Johnstons blog so thought I would try it out. I think her cards are great. After hunting out some patterened paper the cards took shape quite quickly. And why do one when you can do two? My birthday card box is filling up. I think I am even a month or so ahead for the first time in forever.

Colour: kraft, always artichoke, so saffron
Paper: wild daisy (heidi grace)
Stamps: bud basics (SU), punctuation (kelly panacci)
Finishing touches: wild daisy chipboard alpha (heidi grace), pearls (kaiser)

Colour: kraft, pink pirouette, close to cocoa
Paper: bouquet (kaiser)
Stamps:

Finishing touches: alpha stickers, pearls (kaiser)
