Take one icecream

My darling husband surprised me with a treat after taking my youngest on a bike ride to the park and diary at lunch time before he headed back to work. I had so much to do to get ready for our busy Wednesday afternoon but I am so glad I took the time to sit down and enjoy the moment in the sun with my son. Delicious. And the moment was such a good one that I was inspired by the design on the paper. It wasn't until I had been out for a fabulous dinner with friends that I knew I had to put it together as a thank you card. It was fun putting together all the different parts. Usually I just take some of the elements but this time I had all the right bits to create it. I realised after giving it to them what a great idea it would be to get them one of these icecreams and let them enjoy the moment too. Good friends are worth celebrating.

Colours: very vanilla, rose red, handsome hunter, basic black, going grey
Stamps: leaves (megilo), baroque motifs, lots of thoughts, vintage labels and art by design (SU)
Finishing touches: sponge daubers, white signo pen, white embossing powder

A big thank you to my helpers

I needed to say a big thank to all the wonderful helpers that I had in organising the Scraptacular Event. Shona, Chris, Pam, Lyn, Jackie, Tamara, Cherie, Sarah, Rachel, and Jordan thanks a bunch. I couldn't have done it without them. So I put together a little thanks in appreciation and recognition of their help. The cards started out with the heart stickers that I have had hiding in my stash for a while. I combined this with the thank you rub ons and had a bit of a play matching up stamps and colours in different ways. Fun!

Colour: kraft and various
Stamps: little pieces, background sampler (SU), spiral (hero arts)
Finishing Touches: quick words rub ons thank you (top line creations), heart stickers (paper studio bubbleabilities), mat pack paper piercer (SU)

What I got up to in class

Well the boys are back in school so why can't I. I have been organising a scrapbooking fundraiser at our church and as a result have come into contact with the lovely Lyn from Lyn's Scrapbooking Studio. As we hadn't met already I jumped at the chance to be included in a class that she was running even though it was very last minute. And look at the result! I had lots of fun. Have I mentioned that I like trying something different. I think this is my first official off the page project. I am even inspired to get on to the projects that I have waiting to be done. We made a photo album and four cards using one of the Kaiser craft kits. The goodies included the photo album covers, papers, brads, bling, pearls and rub ons. Lots to play with.

Mainly Music Thanks

It was a pleasure to be able to organise a thank you to our two awesome leaders at Mainly Music. Due to different circumstances we are finishing up with this being our last session so it was important to say a big thank you to them for all their hard work. Everyone pitched in towards a gift and I made some cards to go with them. I kept them Christmas themed along with the thank yous

A big thank you

I have been wanting to try out my new kraft paper so this was a perfect time to do it. This is a card that I made for a fabulous lady who has been on our kindergarten committee for some time and more recently as treasurer. We couldn't let her go without treating her.

I kept it fairly simple with circles as a base and one colour. The ready made flowers were a bonus. I love the effect that the circle of friendship sentiments stamps (Stampn up) give. Having started out with quite a different idea I was still pleased with the end result.

Using the Scraps

I had finished making a card for a birthday party that my son was off to and going to put the leftovers into the bag to be put away as I usually do when I had one of those light bulb moments. I had several pieces of paper that I hadn't used because they weren't quite right and thought how because they worked well with other pieces I had in the bag I should use them up. I have been meaning to make some more thank you cards for kindy to use so it was the perfect fit. Once I started of course it was hard to stop. A simple layout, an effective result.
