And a birthday card

Having spent some time scrapbooking I decided to use the tags to make a birthday card for a party that one of my boys was going to. The colours went so well with my new bakers twine. A few little extras and it was done.

Colours: not quite navy, tangerine tango, baja breeze
Stamps:n/a {I think this is a first}
Finishing touches: tokens tags (bella), paper (unknown), stitching, button, denim bakers twine, photo corners and spiral punch (SU), paint chip, danny o rub ons

Ahhh some pages at last

I have been itching to get back to doing some scrapping pages for some time and finally I made it. I have several things on the go that I am wanting to do but opted for doing some pages using a recent purchase. A page of tickets, labels and tagsfor boys by Bella! called Tokens. Where I usually plan my pages around my photos, this time I chose photos that went with these elements. Loving my journalling stamps from Papertrey Ink - Mini Scrapbook Series - Library Ledger. You can do a little or a lot depending on how much you have to write.

Sending my sympathy

While I haven't had much of a chance to get to my crafting space of late I did want to put together a sympathy card to send to family as I couldn't go to the funeral. I haven't made many sympathy cards but I went with a neutral palette and added a dash of colour to brighten it up.

Colours: basic grey, basic black, pumpkin pie, baja breeze, so saffron, not quite navy, almost amethyst, lovely lilac
Stamps: trendy trees (SU), impressions (bella)
Finishing touches: apricot and black embossing powder, deb divine embossing folder (cuttlebug), in colour ribbon(SU), rhinestones

Still trying new techniques

When something catches my eye while I have been blog hopping I don't usually get back to using the inspiration. So I have been bookmarking the ones I have seen and actually using them. It also means that when I post it I have the reference to link to.

The inspiration for this one comes from Angela McKay at North Shore Stamper. Her card using the morning cup stamp set and Elegant Soiree DSP from Stampin Up uses my favourite colours and although I don't have the papers I do have a similar set from kaiser that I could use. I did get stuck with what to use in the boxes until I found my butterflies from Bella! I was originally going to use my new found crocheting skills for the flower but didn't quite get there. So tried out the rolled flowers that have been showing up of late.

Colours: early espresso, baja breeze, very vanilla
Stamps: impressions (bella!), vintage labels (SU)
Finishing touches: praire lane designer paper (kaiser), ribbon, square and circle scallop punches and linen thread (SU), faux stitching, square punch, label punch

Its been too long since I last wrote

As life gets busier it gets harder to set aside time to blog but it doesn't mean I have been idle. This was a card that I made for someone at my husbands work who was leaving. I try to do something a bit different so I looked through our stamp club designs and came up with this one. Paired up with the new DSP from the Stampn up mini it gave lots of comments.

Colours: rich razzleberry, old olive, white
Stamps: bud basics (SU), bella impressions (bella), believe (snag em stamps)
Paper: cottage garden (SU)
Finishing touches, apron lace border punch (fiskars), pearls (kaiser) grosgrain ribbon polka dot rich razzleberry

A special birthday

A very special lady indeed. My Mum. We went down this Easter so we could celebrate her 60th. She certainly deserved something very special for al the amazing things that she has done for us over the years. I really enjoyed putting this one together. Mum loves flourishes and flowers so I made sure to include both. The design is an easel card from a design we did at stamp club, (which if you google will lead to loads of examples and instructions on how to make them).

Colours: basic grey, rose red, barely banana, very vanilla
Stamps: impressions (Bella!) , sense of time, vintage labels and baroque motifs (SU)
Finishing touches: pearls (Kaiser), stylized flowers embossing folder (cuttlebug), designer label punch, felt border (Bella!) dazzling diamonds and silver embossing powder (SU)
