Wedding card

I have made a few wedding cards in the past.  I tend to get out all my wedding related stamps and start from there.  This card started with the handmade paper.  I decided to keep the colours neutral and go all out with the details.

Always up for a challenge I have been getting challenges for the next month ready ahead of time instead of leaving it to the last minute which always causes stress.  The challenge this month was to create a wedding card using fabric in some way.  I don't have much in the way of fabric but found this piece so decided to see what I could come up with.

I do

My husband needed a wedding card made for one of his colleagues at work for everyone to sign. It is my taste at making cards to sell. I love the challenge of creating something special. This one stared off with the wedding papers. I was going to go with red but having worn a top that morning with my favourite colour, teal, I tried it and went with that instead.

Stamps: tiny tags and text style (PTI), wedding mini (kaiser)
Finishing touches: wedding papers (bella!), upper crest border punch (fiskars), silver cord, black embossing powder, heart die (verve), pearls (kaiser),stitching, flowers, antique brads (SU)

Wedding card request

It has been my plan for a while to make cards to sell so when I get the chance I love creating something unique. This one is for my husbands social club for an upcoming wedding. You can see some of my other creations here and here

It actually started with wanting to try embossing transparency sheets with the hearts to combine with the sentiment from Kaiser mini stamps that I recent got. Once I got going it didn't actually fit with the design so will have to try it on something different.

It is always great hearing the comments back. The staff were impressed.

Colours: white, black, cherry cobbler
Stamps: sheet music and wedding mini (kaiser0, baroque motifs (SU), wedding cake (martha stewart)
Finishing touches: black and red embossing powder, divine swirl embossing plate and hearts and stamps die (cuttlebug), sheer ribbon, stitching, photo anchors, brads, distressing tool

Wedding card for a friend

A good friend is heading off to her brothers wedding and mentioned that she needed something special so I offered to make her a card. Taking on the challenge is something I love. I started with the idea of creating a dress from my Klutz paper fashions book and I was on a roll. What didn't I use would probably sum it up! I love how it turned out and so did she.

Colours: baja breeze, early espresso, white
Stamps: beautiful things sentiment, praire lane and le chateau (kaiser)
Finishing touches: paper fashions (klutz), fancy tree embossing folder (cuttlebug), rhinestones, white embossing powder, small tag punch, linen thread, bitty buttons and mat pack (SU), faux stitching, praire lane patterned paper (kaiser)

My first wedding card

I have been making cards for my husbands social club at work. So far I have made baby cards so this one was a bit different especially as it is my first wedding card. I was a little stumped at first as I didn't have many stamps to work with. I started out with a flowery, glittery idea but then came across an old favourite the VW bug from Clear Dollar Stamps. So I went with something different and a lot of fun. I had to add an insert so they could all sign it. It worked well though with the way the card unfolds which I realise you can't really see in the picture. I hope they enjoy it as much as I did making it.

Colours: elegant eggplant, almost amethyst, white, so saffron
Stamps: in the bug, bugs and kisses, sometimes you're the bug, story time alpha (CDS)
Finishing touches: blossoms embossing plate (fiskars), with love borders embossing folder (cuttloebug), black embossing powder, daisy punch, white tissue paper, silver hodgepodge hardware (SU), silver rhinestones
