Watercolouring

At Stamp club we have been trying out new techniques and putting together a sample ring for reference.  Last month we looked at all the different mediums for colouring.  My sister was staying during the week and although she missed stamp club I put together some things so we could have a play with colouring.  I pulled out my Everyday Enchantment goodies from Salebration and put it together with the oval all stamps and scallop punch I had recently purchased.  Once we had coloured it,  the image was looking a little flat so rather than cut out the whole thing and add dimensionals I went for the paper pieced look.

Colours: baja breeze, calypso coral, very vanilla
Stamps: natural beauty and oval all (SU)
Finishing touches:  everyday enchantment organza ribbon, brad and DSP and scallop oval punch (SU), distressing tool, dimensionals.

Baby cards are go

Tis the season for little ones. I have a number of cards for babies due in the next couple of months so I have made a start. I pulled out all my baby supplies. This is the first that I came up with. This is the first time I have inked up Parateddy {one of the goodies I purchased from Elzybells before they closed}. I love playing with new stamps and seeing what I can create. It was a great one for paper piecing. I went for the layered look. Pleased I got on the sewing machine to add the stitching details.

Colours: certainly celery, pumpkin pie, brocade blue
Stamps: parateddy (elzybells), text style (PTI), whimsical words (SU)
Finishing touches: certainly celery ribbon (SU), stitching, buttons, apricot embossing powder (american crafts), papers (my minds eye and unknown)

Baby cards a plenty

With a number of baby's on the way I have been wanting to try out a stamp set {peek a boo} that I got a while back in Elzybells closing down sale. I love the way that Wendy Bond at Bond Girl Bliss and Jodie Collins at Stamping a Latte combine papers and use stitching to bring it together. Having set up my sewing machine on my desk I am using it more and more.
I also pulled out and dusted off my i-top brad maker and made a brad. I hadn't been using them as they seem to need a topper. Now that I have the itty bitty bits stamp set from Stampin Up it is the perfect topper for adding a little detail. Will definitely be using them more I think.

Colours: rose red, old olive, white
Stamps: peek a boo (elzybells), itty bitty bits (SU)
Finishing touches: designer series paper (SU), patterned paper (unknown), stitching, i-top brad, ribbon

Owls the new in thing

I love the look of cards and pages with owls that seem to be the new in thing. I found a couple of great ones in the mags I have been reading and decided to have a play and see what I could come up with using what I have (seems to be my style). It was lots of fun and I loved the end result. So will Riley as he loves hooting everytime he sees an owl.

Colour: kraft, various, chocolate chip
Stamps: storytime alpha (CDS)
Finishing touches: googly eyes, round tab punch, decorative scissors
