Baby cards are go

Tis the season for little ones. I have a number of cards for babies due in the next couple of months so I have made a start. I pulled out all my baby supplies. This is the first that I came up with. This is the first time I have inked up Parateddy {one of the goodies I purchased from Elzybells before they closed}. I love playing with new stamps and seeing what I can create. It was a great one for paper piecing. I went for the layered look. Pleased I got on the sewing machine to add the stitching details.

Colours: certainly celery, pumpkin pie, brocade blue
Stamps: parateddy (elzybells), text style (PTI), whimsical words (SU)
Finishing touches: certainly celery ribbon (SU), stitching, buttons, apricot embossing powder (american crafts), papers (my minds eye and unknown)

September Stamp Club

The challenge for this month was to make a get well card for a boy. It had me stumped and I had put it off till the last minute. When I finally sat down and had a good look through what I had the idea came together to make Dr Sock and put his tools in the trolley. I was going to make some bits and pieces but, after starting the card I thought what fun it would be to put actual first aid bits in so that they can be played with. It turned out even better than I my first thoughts. In fact I enjoyed being caught up in seeing what I could come up with.

Colours: cherry cobbler, baja breeze, very vanilla, not quite navy, old olive, pumpkin pie
Stamps: sock monkey and accessories, background sampler, best yet, itty bitty bits (SU), dater stamp, notebook paper (verve)
Finishing touches: paper (my minds eye and october afternoon), rhinestone. first aid accessories

Ahoy there!

So good to get back into my space for a bit. Another birthday card required. I have been good at keeping up to date but this one was definitely last minute {made an hour before needed - talk about cutting if fine} A stamp, nautical looking papers, some distressing and stitching. Done! Still getting the hang of using my nestabilities.

Colours: very vanilla, not quite navy, early espresso, baja breeze
Stamps: ahoy matey (SU)
Finishing touches: papers (bo bunny), stitching, distressing, ric rac ribbon, nestibilities labels two (spellbinders)

Pages complete

I started a number of pages that had to go on hold while something else took priority. So I finally had a chance to finish them. These are just a few. My favourite is 'I spy'. Love it when all the little pieces come together. Love it that I am enjoying scrapping again, even more.

DIY embellishments

In life I am taking more time to stop and notice the little things that are going on around me. To embrace the moment and enjoy it. Check out this trailer here. Definitely wanting a copy of the book - One Thousand Gifts.

This seems to be rubbing off on my layouts. I have been noticing the little details that others are using and have been playing with different elements {punches, stamps and dies} to add the finishing touches on my pages. Sure its great to have just the right element to use but its certainly not always possible. Fun trying out new things with what you have to see what you can come up with.
